NORTH RIDGEVILLE -- A man has been arrested after he reportedly stole a car at knifepoint then fled police in another city.

According to North Ridgeville police, the 20-year-old man carjacked a resident at knifepoint in Elyria on Wednsday.

Police in North Ridgeville spotted the stolen car on Center Ridge Road near Race Road, but the driver failed to pull over.

An officer pursued the vehicle until the driver struck another car at the intersection of Center Ridge and Lear Nagle Road.

Both the suspect and the driver of the other car, a 36-year-old woman, were taken to St. John Medical Center with injuries that weren't life-threatening.

The suspect will face multiple criminal and traffic charges when he is released from the hospital, according to police.
