Two men are behind bars after police say they kidnapped a man, shot him several times and then led officers on a chase.
CLEVELAND -- Sylvester R. Cotton, 22, and Michael J. Brooks, 30, are now in jail after police say that they kidnapped a man, shot him several times and then drove off with police in pursuit.
According to the police report, police were called to the area of E. 30th Street and Central Avenue about a man being chased at 10:35 p.m. Friday.
Police found a man, 32, shot and he was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center.
The police report states that the victim was kidnapped at gunpoint from his home in the 500 block of E. 140th Street and forced into his own car with the two men.
They then drove to E. 31st Street and Cedar Road, where the two men robbed the victim of his cell phone, clothing and money, forced him to lie down on the ground, and then shot him several times.
Police caught up with the suspects in the victim's car at East 55th and Woodland Avenue and tried to pull them over but the suspects drove off.
After a brief police pursuit, the car stopped and Cotton and Brooks were arrested.
