With a major snow storm bearing down on us, kids may have more snow days. Many districts are already out of the five calamity days allowed for the year.
The legislature still has to vote on adding four calamity days for this school year only. The proposal passed an education committee, but now the full legislature needs to vote.
With kids missing so much school time, the Ohio Department of Education is also discussing whether state achievement tests should be delayed. No decision has been made, but the testing starts in the spring.
