CLEVELAND -- Some Cleveland parents say their children already have large class sizes-- 40 students to one teacher in 5th grade.

"It's not good, they can't concentrate," says Sharica Bush-Snowden, parent.

The district will decide whether to renew more than 40 limited contracts for teachers, guidance counselors and media specialists. The Cleveland Schools say it is a matter of teacher quality and student achievement, but the Cleveland Teachers' Union says some of the teachers in question had very good reviews.

In the meantime, the Cleveland Schools are looking to fill 150 teaching openings.

At tonight's board meeting, there will also be discussion of a building plan to build 19 schools and close four to five. The issue may be voted on in November.
