CLEVELAND -- Producers with NBC's hit talent show The Voice are hosting open auditions at the Cleveland Public Auditorium this weekend.
Northeast Ohio's own Anthony Paul, 19, made it onto season of the show. He traveled from Twinsburg to Chicago for his first audition and he has advice for Voice hopefuls.
"Expect a long day, and when I say long, I don't mean bad. It's a process," he says.
Paul says listening to your music, knowing the words and practicing are key.
"Don't stress out. They're looking for The Voice. Just because that person across the room may be amazing, it doesn't mean that you don't have something special that you have that they want on the show that's never been on the show."
Paul says having fun is important, too. He didn't win season five, but it gave him a platform to grow in his music career.
Paul is going into his sophomore year at Elmhurst College in Illinois, majoring in music business. Paul is also preparing for a free concert in Twinsburg in July and an album release in the winter.
