SANDUSKY -- The bones of a new building have popped up near Cedar Point's main entrance.
Partially obstructed by a wall, this mystery structure is in the early phases of construction.
Going mostly unnoticed due to its placement away from heavy foot traffic in the park, the new framework sits just beneath screaming thrillseekers on the GateKeeper roller coaster.
So, what could it be?
Storage space? A brand new store?
Although Cedar Point officials haven't revealed the purpose of this space, strong speculation indicates this building will house a brand new haunted attraction for the upcoming 2014 HalloWeekends.
Since its inception nearly 20 years ago, Cedar Point has expanded the annual Halloween event with new attractions, outdoor fright zones and spooky-themed shows.
For 2013, Cedar Point unleashed Zombie High School, an indoor haunted house that took the space once held by Club Blood. Zombie High School was one of 10 haunted attractions (four indoors and six outdoors) churning out screams last season.
The 18th annual HalloWeekends starts haunting Cedar Point on Friday, Sept. 12.
Earlier this week, Cedar Point launched its new SlingShot ride for the first time.
