According to various sheriff's departments, Sandusky, Huron, Erie and Ottawa counties have issued a Level 3 Snow Emergency, meaning residents can be cited and fined if they drive. Roadways are described as being extremely hazardous.

Under a Level 3, roads are closed to all traffic with the exception of emergency vehicles.

Officials in Sandusky County said if residents are required to go to work, they still could be stopped by a deputy. It is up to the deputy whether or not the resident will be cited, according to officials.

Richland County is under a Level 1 Snow Emergency, meaning roads are hazardous due to accumulated snow or ice. Drivers are asked to travel with caution.
