CLEVELAND -- If you're shopping in the healthcare exchange, be careful what you choose, especially if you want to keep a particular doctor or hospital system.

Not every hospital accepts every insurance available on the exchange.

For example, Cleveland Clinic takes Medical Mutual, Coventry and Aultcare only.

University Hospitals will accept Anthem, Healthspan (formerly Kaiser Permanente), SummaCare and SuperMed.

In Akron, Summa Health System will take SummaCare, Aultcare, Buckeye Community Health Plan and Medical Mutual.

Akron General accepts Anthem (listed as Anthem DirectAccess)
CareSource (listed as CareSource Just4Me)
HealthSpan (listed as KP)
and Medical Mutual (listed MedMutual Market)

MetroHealth Medical Center will accept all plans offered on the exchange.

There's another catch.

Each insurance company may have several different plans offered and every plan may not include your hospital or doctor. So make sure you check with your medical provider as to which specific plan you need to sign up for to keep them.
