CLEVELAND -- A six-member search committee is getting help to identify candidates to replace the retiring president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.

Sherwin-Williams chairman and CEO Chris Conner will lead the search committee looking for a replacement for Sandra Pianalto.

The committee has hired an executive search firm, Spencer Stuart, to help. Tom Daniels with the firm's New York office will lead the effort.

The search committee members, all Cleveland Fed directors, include top executives from United States Steel in Pittsburgh and J.M. Smucker Co. in Orrville, Ohio.

Pianalto became president of the Cleveland Fed in 2003 and plans to retire early next year.

The Cleveland Fed supervises banks in Ohio, western Pennsylvania, eastern Kentucky and the northern panhandle of West Virginia.
