CLEVELAND -- On Friday, The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested another wanted sex offender.
US Marshals arrested William Torres, 37, in Puerto Rico while he was staying with family members.
Williams ran to Puerto Rico after kidnapping and raping a minor. The Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office says he held the minor against her will while he sexually assaulted her.
Torres was a part of the U.S. Marshals "Agonizing 8" most wanted sex offenders. The list was released on November 4, 2013. Marshals have caught half of the suspects on the list of eight in less than a week.
"We created the Agonizing Eight for a purpose. That purpose was to get violent sex offencers off the street quickly and safely. We have captured 4 already and we aren't going to stop there. Sex offenders need to know that there is nowhere to run. We will find you and you will face justice," said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott.
