CLEVELAND -- A jury has reached a verdict in the trial of a mother accused of killing her 3-year-old son and throwing his body out in the trash.
The jury found Camilia terry guilty on 9 of the 10 counts filed against her. She was found guilty of murder (2 counts), felonious assault, endangering a child, making a false alarm, tampering with evidence, among the charges.
Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Janet Burnside will sentence Terry Dec. 19.
Jurors began deliberations against Camilia Terry late Friday afternoon and reached a verdict a short time later.
Terry, 21, is accused of killing her 3-year-old son, Emilliano, and reporting him missing from Kossuth Park at East 121st Street last Nov. 25.
Prosecutors told the jury that Camilia's story to investigators changed several times.
According to police, before reporting her son missing, Camilia had already killed him, stuffed his body in several trash bagsand left his body in a trash bin.
Police then found Emilliano's body in garbage bags at the Oakwood Village Waste Management trash transfer center.
His cause of death was blunt force impact to the head and body.
