ELYRIA TOWNSHIP -- An Elyria man was seriously injured after he crashed his car in Elyria Township Monday evening.
Stanley Langford, 46, was driving north on Murray Ridge Road about 7:20 p.m. when he failed to negotiate the curve where the road meets Griswold Road, according to the Elyria post of the State Highway Patrol. He drove his 2011 Ford F-250 of the left side of the road and struck a utility pole.
He was taken to EMH Elyria Medical Center, where his condition was not available.
Alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash, and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
Langford was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the patrol.
Griswold and Murray Ridge roads closed down due to downed power lines.
