SOLON -- Just after 2 p.m. Nov. 29, employees of the City of Solon Water Reclamation Department at 6951 Cochran Road, called Solon Police to report the discovery of what appeared to be a human fetus. It appeared that the fetus had entered the plant very recently.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene, along with the Solon Detective Bureau. The remains were taken to the Medical Examiner's for examination and a post-mortem.

Police have no other information regarding the fetus as of now.

It is unknown at this time whether there is any criminal activity involved, or whether this was the result of a spontaneous miscarriage or other medical issue of some sort, police said.

Investigation will continue.

Police advise that it is important that the mother receive appropriate medical and psychological care and follow-up.
