BEDFORD -- Cleveland area Golden Age Centers Meals on Wheels program is getting some extra help this holiday season.
Ganley Subaru of Bedford's Share the Love event is collecting food donations at the dealership until the end of the month. The canned goods and other shelf stable items will go to help those seniors in need.
In addition, for each car sold, the dealership will donate to the Golden Age's Meals on Wheels program, that provides home delivered meals for low income, home-bound seniors.
The donation goal is $10,000.
Golden Age Centers has lost significant federal funding since the sequester. This program serves over 135,000 meals each year to homebound and at risk older adults.
During the drive this month, they hope to package 2,100 balanced meals seniors to insure they are prepared for the next emergency.
