CLEVELAND -- A 38-year-old woman died early Saturday after she was shot and pushed from the car she was in.
Police have now arrested her husband, Antonio R. Hicks, who they say was the driver of the car, and charged him with aggravated murder.
Police responded to the area of East 83rd Street and Woodland Avenue around 3 a.m. after receiving reports of a woman who was shot.
When police arrived, they found the woman in the middle of the street. She was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center, where she later died.
Investigators say the woman was a passenger in a car travelling along East 83rd Street. At some point, gunshots from outside of the vehicle hit the woman.
The victim was then pushed from the car, along with her purse. Hicks then left the scene. Police have not determined why she was pushed from the car.
The Cleveland Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene along with the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office.
