MEDINA -- The Medina County Sanitary Engineer's Office has canceled an emergency water conservation request implemented on Wednesday for Medina County water customers.

The situation at the water plant in Avon Lake that supplies the county with water has been resolved.

Lake intake valves had frozen over in the cold weather preventing water from entering the plant to replenish the system.

Crews worked overnight Wednesday and were able to resolve the problem early Thursday morning leading to water restrictions being lifted.

Medina County water customers with questions can contact Medina County at 330-723-9585.
