MENTOR -- Patients at a nursing home had to be moved to other parts of the building after a sprinkler pipe burst at 3:30 a.m. Thursday.

Officials say staff members at Heartland of Mentor "safely and quickly moved to other parts of the facility without any harm or injury."

Emergency crews were also dispatched to assist.

Approximately half the facility's population was impacted with 60 patients being moved to different locations.

Family members were notified throughout the process.

A cleanup firm has been called and repairs will begin as soon as possible.

"Since the safety and welfare of our residents and staff is always our primary concern, we are taking every precaution to ensure their well-being," a press release states.

We do not foresee any disruptions in daily services and routines such as activities, therapy schedules and meals to the rest of our patients.

Heartland of Mentor is located at 8200 Mentor Hills Drive.
