CLEVELAND -- The Indiana Pacers signed Andrew Bynum for the remainder of the season.

The deal was made on Saturday, and specific terms have not been released.

Bynum is expected to join the team next week and will likely serve as a backup to all-star center Roy Hibbert.

Bynum played in 24 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers this season before being traded to the Chicago Bulls on January 7. The very next day, the Bull released him before the second half of his $12 million contract became guaranteed.

Bynum averaged 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game with the Cavs.
