BAY VILLAGE -- Police were four-for-five in OVI arrests last week.

Just before 10 p.m. Jan. 27, a driver called police to report she was following a vehicle on Lake Road near Dover Center, and she believed the operator was intoxicated.

The caller had observed the vehicle strike the curb several times and it was weaving within its lane. Officers stopped the vehicle on Lake Road near Huntington Beach. After speaking with the driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.

Field sobriety tests were administered and,as a result, the 51-year-old man was arrested for OVI. He will face charges at Rocky River Municipal Court.

Just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Wolf Road near Douglas Drive for a traffic violation. After speaking with the driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered and, as a result, the 45-year-old man was arrested for OVI. He will face charges at RRMC.

Just after 2 a.m. Wednesday, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Normandy Road near Douglas Drive for a traffic violation. After speaking with the 34-yearold woman who was driving, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered and, as a result, the driver was arrested for OVI. She will face charges at RRMC.

Just after 12:30 a.m. Friday, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Road near Florence Court for a traffic violation. After speaking with the 46-year old man driving the vehicle, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered and, as a result, the driver was arrested for OVI. He will face charges at RRMC.
