The MCC runs weekly in-house leagues in Women's, Men's, Mixed, and Junior Curling. It also has curling clinics held throughout the year.

Mayfield curlers travel around the world to play in competitive bonspiels and it hosts yearly bonspiels, which draw teams from across the country and Canada.

The sport of curling was developed in the farm fields of Scotland during the 16th century. Curling most recently rejoined the Olympic games in 1998.

It is one of only four winter Olympic events not determined outdoors.

Curling teams consist of four members who deliver two rocks, or stones across the curling rink. This is done alternately with the opponent's player at the same position.

When all 16 rocks have been delivered, the score of that end is determined. For each stone that is closer to the center of the scoring area than any of the opponent's one point is scored. When ten of these ends have been completed, a winner is determined.
