BRECKSVILLE – The National Park Service has closed the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park until further notice.
Multiple portions of the trail can be impacted by flooding. Northeast Ohio is under the threat of flooding due to recent rain and snow melt.
The trail closure includes associated parking lots from Lock 39 Trailhead in Independence to Botzum Trailhead in Akron.
The National Park Service staff will make assessments of trail conditions for resource and visitor safety before reopening the trail.
