The heavy snow and strong winds caused power outages all over the area Wednesday.

At one point 20,000 people were without power in Parma.

A power line snapped in half near Snow and West 54th Street.

Crews shut down the road to make repairs when another power line caught fire in Parma Heights.

In Mentor, a similar scene, where 1,500 people lost power.

The Food for Thought catering business lost power 12 times as they were preparing meals for 1,000 people.

"The main thing is refrigeration. We cook with flame and gas but we have to keep the food safe, and you want lights, so people don't cut their fingers off. They need a comfortable work environment," said co-owner Bob Hufguard.

As a precaution, the company keeps headbands with lights attached so employees can safely work in the dark.
