SANDUSKY -- It was a roller coaster of a weekend for Cedar Point.
The Sandusky scream park is set to reopen this morning after the park was unexpectedly closed Saturday and Sunday because of a major water main break.
The closure began Saturday morning and continued through Sunday at Cedar Point, Soak City and several area hotels as crews worked to repair the broken water main.
Early Sunday afternoon, it was announced that park operations would return to normal Monday with the park open from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. (Platinum passholders have 9 a.m. early entry).
Attached to the reopening is a special online deal. Now through Sunday, June 15, tickets for Cedar Point will be sold for $39.99 -- which is $20 off the gate price -- and includes a free admission ticket to the Soak City waterpark. The Cedar Point one-day ticket for this offer must be used by June 15. The free Soak City ticket is valid for one day through Sept. 1.
This offer is only available online at CedarPoint.com.
Guests who were already inside the parks when they closed Saturday, were given the choice to get a full refund, to use their tickets at a future date or to take their tickets and redeem them at Wildwater Kingdom in Aurora or Kings Island in Cincinnati that day.
