AKRON -- Police say an apparent ongoing feud may be the motivation behind an 18-year-old man's death.

At 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Cole Avenue in Akron where Donald Carter Jr. was found on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound.

He was taken to Akron General Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 8:44 p.m.

Detectives identified 33-year-old Nathaneal Cater Jr. of Akron as the suspect. He turned himself in and was charged with aggravated murder.

Despite the same last names, police say there is no relation between the victim and suspect.

The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy.
