CLEVELAND -- After more than 9,000 submissions, a name has been chosen.
After she was born at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, this Masai giraffe remained unnamed as the public gave their suggestions on what to call her.
Ultimately, Adia was selected.
"We send her out there on exhibit with mom just about every day," says Chris Kuhar of the zoo. "She's out there most of the day, weather dependent. She's out there for everyone to see and enjoy."
She was six feet tall and 120 pounds at birth.
Adia is the 47th giraffe born at the Zoo since 1955.
Masai giraffes are found in Kenya and Tanzania, near the Masai Mara National Reserve.
