CLEVELAND -- The man charged in the fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a 5-year-old boy last October was arraigned early Wednesday.
Jerome Lee, 24, pleaded not guilty at the brief court hearing and bond was set at $500,000. He appeared via closed-circuit television.
Lee, who was already jailed for other alleged crimes, was formally charged in the case this week after authorities say a tip from CrimeStoppers connected him to the incident.
It was back on Oct. 25 when Israel Thornton was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking to his school bus stop on W. 37th and Denison Avenue.
Lee's charges include aggravated vehicular homicide and felony hit-skip.
His first pretrial hearing is set for Aug. 18 at 9 a.m.
