Police say the driver of the vehicle stopped immediately and called 911

EUCLID -- Police have confirmed to WKYC that, just before 9 a.m. today, a 7-year-old Arbor Elementary student was struck by an vehicle while he was crossing the street at 503 East 200th Street.

He was taken to Euclid General Hospital and police say his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Police say the driver of the vehicle stopped immediately and called 911 and then waited for emergency and police personnel to arrive.

Police say the driver is cooperating with police. No charges are currently being filed against the driver.

The child's parents and Arbor Elementary School officials were notified of the accident by police.

Police are not releasing any more information at this time.
