EAST CLEVELAND -- Almost three months after a toddler fell out of a 17th-story story window at the Crystal Tower Apartments at 16000 Terrace Road and died, a lawsuit was filed against K&D Group Inc. and K&D Group Management LLC, who own and manage the property.

The complaint alleges K&D "chose profits over safety" and "had actual and/or constructive knowledge of the dangerous condition, nuisance, hazard and/or defect maintained on their subject premises."

On Jan. 13, Alijah Glenn, 2, was playing with his 3-year-old brother at his grandmother's apartment when he fell through a seven foot, floor-to-ceiling window.

Alijah fell 17 stories to his death.

K&D Group Inc. is one of the largest privately owned property management and development firms in Northeast Ohio.

WKYC has made calls, in addition to sending an email, to K&D for comment. The company says it has not yet received a copy of the lawsuit.
