CLEVELAND -- A horse pulling a carriage slipped and fell outside Channel 3 News at 1333 Lakeside Ave. Friday evening and after an effort of about 45 minutes was up and walking.
The horse, named Danny, fell a little before 7 p.m. and remained in the street at East 13th Street and Lakeside for about 45 minutes. Police responded for traffic control.
Drivers with Shamrock Carriages attempted to get Danny to his feet. They said the horse appeared to be exhausted. Another horse-drawn carriage was following the one with the horse that fell.
Witnesses said a loud car startled the horse, causing it to slip on metal plates in the road. It then became too spooked to get back to its feet.
It was unclear if he had further injuries.
