D'erise Carson has been charged with two counts of animal cruelty and two counts of animal neglect
CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Animal Protective League is looking for the public's help finding a man accused of beating and burning a cat to death.
D'erise Carson has been charged with two counts of animal cruelty and two counts of animal neglect, but his whereabouts is not known.
On Saturday, the APL received a report that on Friday night a man had killed his grandmother's cat.
Witnesses said he repeatedly smashed the cat to the ground, knocking it senseless. He then doused it in lighter fluid and set it on fire.
The cat, still on fire, ran into a neighbor's yard and died.
Cleveland police responded immediately and the APL was notified the next day.
Anyone with knowledge of Carson's whereabouts is asked to contact Cleveland police.
