LAKEWOOD -- As students in Lakewood have their last day of classes Thursday, many are also saying goodbye to the buildings they've been learning in.

Executive Director of Operations and Construction, Jim Reitenbach says the 100-year-old Lincoln Elementary School is one of three Lakewood elementary schools set to be demolished and rebuilt.

The eastern half of the high school is also being renovated.

"It's a lot, but hopefully with good planning and a lot of good people surrounding all of us working together we can pull this off."

In the end, the hope is that state-of-the-art buildings will provide more opportunities for innovative learning.
