CLEVELAND -- A 35-year-old man is dead after a motorcycle accident Monday morning in Cleveland.

According to police, the man was speeding about 6 a.m. eastbound on St. Clair Avenue at East 125th Street when he lost control.

The motorcycle slid along the road and collided with the rear of a Jeep SUV that was stopped for a red light.

The man and the driver of the SUV, a 46-year-old woman, were both taken to University Hospitals, where the man was pronounced dead. The woman's condition was not immediately available.

No citations were issued, and the accident remains under investigation.
