Parma police are asking for help in finding the man who shot a bar patron during a robbery early Wednesday morning

PARMA -- Police are seeking answers after a masked man entered a bar early Wednesday morning and opened fire.

According to police, it happened around 1:55 a.m. when the unidentified suspect walked inside Piffels Pub on Ridge Road in Parma. The suspect reportedly brandished a handgun and pointed it at several patrons while demanding money.

The suspect used the gun to hit one of the patron's in the head.

When an employee fled the bar to call for help, police say the suspect chased the worker down and forced her back inside the bar.

Moments later, the suspect shot a male patron in the torso and ordered the employee to give him cash from the business.

Parma police are asking for help in finding the man who shot a bar patron during a robbery early Wednesday morning.

The suspect then fled the scene with an unreported amount of money. He was observed getting into the passenger side of a dark-colored vehicle driven by an unidentified person. The vehicle was last seen heading eastbound on Virginia Avenue.

The shooting victim was taken to a local hospital where his condition is unknown.
