CLEVELAND -- They followed the smoke.
Cleveland firefighters and police located a marijuana 'farm' in 1100 block of E. 172nd Street about 11 p.m. Thursday.
The house, at 1153 E.172nd Street had smoke coming from it.
The preliminary investigation reveals that a Fifth District police officer saw smoke coming from the house and called the fire department.
After getting the fire under control, firefighters saw growing equipment and several suspected marijuana plants.
The vice unit and crime scene unit were called and evidence was photographed and confiscated.
There was no one home at the time of the incident.
About 20-25 marijuana plants were confiscated.
