Police say the boy was with an older sibling when a blue vehicle drove by and opened fire

CLEVELAND -- Police have made one arrest in the shooting of a 4-year-old boy at a school playground Sunday afternoon and are in the process of getting a warrant for a second male.

The child was shot while he was in the playground area at East Clark Elementary School in the 800 block of East 146th Street.

Police say it happened around 4:40 p.m.. He was with an older sibling when a blue vehicle with three or four people inside drove past the playground and opened fire.

The child was shot in the thigh and was taken to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital for treatment.
