County prosecutors in Cleveland dropped an attempted murder charge and other counts against Dr. Georges Bensimhon
CLEVELAND -- The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office says a Pennsylvania anesthesiologist was sentenced here to three years in prison after pleading guilty to felonious assault in a crowbar attack on his daughter's estranged husband, who also is a doctor.
Cuyahoga County prosecutors dropped an attempted murder charge and other counts against Dr. Georges Bensimhon, of Allentown in exchange for the plea.

He faced up to eight years in prison and a $15,000 fine at his sentencing.
Bensimhon was charged in a Sept. 4 attack on 39-year-old neurosurgeon Seth Hoffer outside Hoffer's Cleveland Heights home.
Hoffer was clubbed with a crowbar but fought back, pinned his attacker and called for help.
