SOUTH EUCLID -- She was loading her items into her Cadillac in the parking lot when loss prevention employees at Giant Eagle stopped her.

Police say that, about 11:30 a.m. Monday, they were called to Giant Eagle on Mayfield Road for a theft report.

Upon arrival, police learned that the woman, 78, had tried to steal $44 worth of merchandise.

The items? Coleslaw, beans, greeting cards and five bags of mulch.

She was arrested and charged with theft by police.
