CLEVELAND -- To police, theft of a couple of hundred dollars worth of belongings is considered a simple burglary. But for one couple, what was taken meant the world.

Deborah Haskins is a self-trained wood carver, sculpting branches into unique walking sticks with themes including her beloved Cleveland Browns.

Her craft is also critical therapy in her nearly year long fight against cancer.

Thieves in Cleveland's Old Brooklyn neighborhood struck in the middle of the night when Haskins accidentally gave them an open opportunity.

Thieves made off with items in their open garage, including Haskins' cherished whittling blades and 5-inch buck knife.
