CLEVELAND -- Cleveland police responded to two shootings, a stabbing and what they're calling a "cutting" overnight Wednesday.

  • About midnight, police were called to Eddy Road and St. Clair Avenue, where they found a man who had been shot during a robbery. The victim, a 32-year-old man, told officers he's been robbed near Chilli's convenient store. He said he heard one gunshot. He was taken to the hospital, where he is being treated for buckshot wounds to his thigh, abdomen, chest and forearms. He is listed in critical condition. No one was arrested, and there are no suspects.
  • About 2:30 a.m. police were called to Addison Road and St. Clair Avenue and arrived to find a man being treated by EMS for a stab wound to the right chest area. The 31-year-old man said he had no idea who stabbed him or when he was stabbed. He told police prior to realizing he was stabbed he was at Club Fly Hygh at 7023 Superior Ave. He was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center.

  • About 3:30 a.m. officers were called to the 8700 block of Willard Avenue and arrived to find a male lying in the front yard with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. Police have not made any arrests and have no suspects. They say the 22-year-old man does not live at the home where he was found and was not a visitor there. Anyone with information is asked to call the First District Detective Bureau at (216) 623-5118.
  • Also about 3:30 a.m. police were called to the 1200 block of West 116th Street for a report of a woman stabbed. The 49-year-old Columbia Station woman had a cut to her right side that she said she received when she tried to break up a fight between two other people. She told them she was visiting the location when Ryan Fowler, 29, of Brunswick began threatening another person with a baseball bat and a knife. She said she was cut when she tried to intervene. She was taken to MetroHealth, and Fowler was arrested.
