Iron workers attached the span to the towers
CLEVELAND -- The span of the Columbus Road lift bridge was floated and installed at its towers in Cleveland on the Cuyahoga River today.
Iron workers attached the span to the towers.
The process began Monday when the bridge was transferred to the barge.
The bridge, which weighs almost 2 million pounds, was put in place by American Bridge Company crews. They had worked on the span nearby on land west of the Carter Road bridge since June 2013.
