CLEVELAND -- The firefighters union has responded after 17 Cleveland Fire Department supervisors have been disciplined for failing to keep accurate timesheet records.

Cleveland fire union officials held a news conference Friday to address the developments as well to announce that they plan to appeal.

They say the supervisors who were disciplined are being treated as scapegoats.

This stems from investigation that led to 12 firefighters pleading guilty to avoiding hours of work by paying other firefighters to work their shifts

The union says supervisors tried to raise red flags.
