SOLON -- Police noticed that they left their bags of Skittles behind in an Arthur Road yard.

Just before 8 p.m. Saturday, a boy, 16, reported that he had just been threatened by three boys.

Officers responded to Arthur Road and learned from him that the suspects left three aluminum baseball bats in the yard, as well as several bags of Skittles candy.

He told officers that the boys had bragged about stealing from a concession trailer located at Solon High School.

One officer went to the high school and, while inspecting the concession trailer, was approached by a resident who stated that she witnessed three boys hitting the supply trailer with baseball bats.

Officers were able to identify the three boys -- a 16-year-old and two 14-year-olds. The teens then admitted that they stole the bats from outside the Solon Recreation building at the Community Park and then they broke into the concession trailer and stole candy and bottles of Gatorade.

The case was turned over to the Detective Bureau.
