LAKE COUNTY -- The Lake County Coroner''s Office was called to Headlands Beach State Park in Mentor after a body was found.

At about 12:47 pm, Tuesday, Lake County Sheriff's deputies responded to the beach near the Fairport Harbor lighthouse and breakwall.

A bird watcher had come upon a body on the water's edge of the beach, about 1,300 feet west of the Fairport Harbor lighthouse.

The coroner ordered the body to be taken to the Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office for a forensic examination. Sheriff's deputies say the tattoos on the body indicate the possibility that this is an adult Hispanic male.

The sheriff's office says that it doesn't have any outstanding missing persons in that area.

Investigators say it is too early to determine whether foul play was involved in the man's death.

We are told the Fairport Harbor and Grand River fire departments were at the scene.
