PAINESVILLE -- Lake County Coroner Lynn Smith has notified the Lake County Sheriff's Office that the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has positively identified the body found on the beach at Headlands State Park Tuesday afternoon.

Using fingerprints, Jesus M. Gonzalez, 19, whose last known address was 3796 W. 130th Street in Cleveland, was identified.

The family has been notified by the Cleveland Police Department. A missing person report had been filed on Jan. 7 and the report indicated that Jesus M. Gonzalez was possibly suicidal.

Just before 1 p.m. Tuesday, the Lake County Coroner''s Office was called to Headlands Beach State Park in Mentor after a body was found by a bird watcher.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the beach near the Fairport Harbor lighthouse and breakwall.

A bird watcher had come upon a body on the water's edge of the beach, about 1,300 feet west of the Fairport Harbor lighthouse.

The Lake County Coroner ordered the body to be taken to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office for a forensic examination. Sheriff's deputies say the tattoos on the body indicated the possibility that this is an adult Hispanic male.

The sheriff's office says that it doesn't have any outstanding missing persons in that area.
