Local law enforcement agencies across Lake County have been increasing their efforts at targeting illegal drug activity in and around area hotels and motels. By combining uniformed patrol officers and plainclothes detectives working with undercover narcotics agents, these targeted enforcement activities have resulted in numerous arrests for narcotics violations, according to the Lake County Narcotics Agency.

In the last six weeks alone, police have arrested a total of 14 suspects on drug-related charges and seized nearly 40 grams of heroin, 10 grams of cocaine, 2 ounces of marijuana, over $8,000 in cash and seven vehicles.

Police intend to continue these operations throughout the summer.
