Fast-acting neighbors confronted, chased and tracked down four suspected burglars to a donut shop.
ELYRIA -- Fast-acting neighbors confronted, chased and tracked down four suspected burglars to a donut shop.
"I give kudos to all my neighbors because I just can't believe that if it wasn't for, them none of them probably would've been caught," explained the homeowner, who didn't want to be identified. "We would've had suspicion and that was probably all."
Last week, a neighbor noticed something odd across the street. She watched four people go into a house on Tulane Court, so she called the owner.
When the owner arrived, she got out of her vehicle and began to chase the suspected burglars. Eventually, other neighbors got involved and found Two men and a teen at a nearby Dunkin' Donuts.
A woman accused of being involved was arrested later in the day at a different location.
"As far as being a nosy neighbor, I'm glad I'm a nosy neighbor," said the woman who called police.
"I used to tease my husband about it all the time because he's always checking all times of day and night out the window but after this happened I just hope someone's watching for me."
The three suspects are scheduled for a preliminary court hearing on Friday.
The fourth is a juvenile.
