NORTH RIDGEVILLE -- Many were evacuated in North Ridgeville after Monday night's torrential rains set off flash flooding.

The Lorain County Emergency Operations Center assisted those stuck in their vehicles or homes due to the rising water.

The rescues were in the area of Center Ridge Road and Mills Creek Lane.

A shelter has been opened at Fields Church (34077 Lorain Road) in North Ridgeville for those displaced by flooding.

There are also numerous road closures in the city as a result of the high water.

Drivers are reminded to NOT drive into a flooded roadway.
