ELYRIA -- Nine more people have been arrested in connection with a murder last week in Elyria.

Davion Strupe, 24, of Lorain was shot as we was apparently fleeing a fight involving more than 30 people, according to police.

Police previously arrested Markus Martin, 26, of Elyria for murder, kidnapping and aggravated burglary; Tristen I. Belfiore, 17, of Elyria is for aggravated murder, kidnapping and aggravated burglary; and Anthony Marcano, 22, of Cleveland for murder, kidnapping and aggravated burglary.

On Tuesday, police executed search warrants in and around the Elyria area and arrested the following individuals:

Todd Wells, 21, Elyria, charged with murder, kidnapping, aggravated burglary and aggravated riot. He is being held without bond at the Lorain County Jail.

Tyler D. Wells, 23, Cleveland, charged with aggravated riot. He also had a bench warrant through Elyria Municipal Court. He is being held at the jail on $102,000 bond.

Anthony McShepard, 21, Elyria, charged with aggravated riot. He is being held at the jail on $100,000 bond.

Dean A. Martin Jr., 27, Elyria, charged with aggravated riot. He is being held at the jail on $100,000 bond.

Iesha S. Newson, 23, Elyria, charged with aggravated riot. She is being held at the jail on $100,000 bond.

Megan E. White, 25, Elyria, charged with aggravated riot. She is being held at the jail on $100,000 bond.

Devonte L. Gray, 21, Elyria, charged with aggravated riot. He is being held at the jail on $100,000 bond.

Richard L. Webber, 26, charged with aggravated riot. He is being held at the jail on $100,000 bond.

Adrian E. Smith, 24, Elyria, charged with aggravated riot. He is being held at the jail on $100,000 bond.

Officers were called to Garden Street in Elyria late June 30 and while en route received calls that multiple gunshots had been fired on the same street.

In the area of Infirmary Road and Garden Street, they found a woman holding Strupe, who was unconscious and bleeding profusely.

Witnesses told police he had been involved in an altercation with about 30 people on Garden Street and that he was shot as he attempted to flee the area.

Strupe was taken to the University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center ER, where he died.
