BRUNSWICK -- A Cleveland man has been taken into custody and charged in connection with a shooting at a Medina park Tuesday night.
Police say the 32-year-old male victim was shot in the back of the head as he walked in Ray Mellert Park. The victim remains hospitalized at MetroHealth Medical Center and is expected to undergo surgery.
Officers arrested Greg Prince, 22, in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant on Route 303. Police say he had gone to a cousin's apartment after the shooting and forced his cousin at gunpoint to drive him out of town.
Family members were in contact with the cousin as she drove Prince in her car and gave the information to Medina Police. An uncle finally persuaded Prince to surrender to police at the fast food restaurant.
Prince faces charges of felonious assault and kidnapping.
