The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force followed leads through Ohio, West Virginia and South Dakota
WATERTON, S.Dak. -- A convicted rapist wanted in Northeast Ohio was arrested Wednesday in South Dakota, according to U.S. Marshals.
Randolph Valure was wanted by the Medina County Sheriff's Office, the Wadsworth Police Department, the Seville Police Department and U.S. Marshals for multiple counts of burglary, failure to appear stemming from a rape and abduction case, bond jumping, illegal assembly of the chemicals to manufacture methamphetamines and failure to appear for nonsupport.
The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force followed leads through Ohio, West Virginia and South Dakota, where Valure was eventually discovered after Marshals received an anonymous tip.
Valure was taken to the Codington County Jail, where he is awaiting extradition back to Ohio.
"Our Task Force refused to give up on the chase of this violent sexual predator," U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said. They worked tirelessly with their counterparts in other states until a concerned citizen recognized his photo and notified the proper authorities."
